So, Chris, you had mentioned throwing everything out and starting from scratch… What do you have in mind? Let us discuss.

Then there’s the part of me that feels like it’s pointless to expend any more energy on SNF now that we’re living in the age of Myspace. Most of my friends are scarcely aware of the rest of the WWW at this point.

Hmm, adding the ability to post found images as well might make things more interesting. It would also kill two or three birds with one stone since I was planning to do that as a second application anyway. I’m listening to Kraftwerk.

I’ll start. I don’t actually want to throw out most of the site, because I’ve spent too much time working on it.
Changing the front page would be nice, though. I was thinking, for example, that I could write a simple blog posting app, modeled on Metafilter, that would merge the Grue York Times and the link-o-matic. We could allow any of the SNF regulars (such as they are) to post to it, which in theory would keep the front page reasonably fresh. In practice, I guess we’d have to start posting again ourselves to get people interested. That’s not a terribly bold idea, though, so I’m open to something better.
